Hello my name is Lindsey Salomon and Im a bellydance performer and teacher. I am also the Director of and choreographer to
Al Qadeema Bellydance Company.
I have been bellydancing for 16 years and teaching for 14 of them. I am fully insured and have completed my JWAAD Foundation course which covers health and safety, lesson planning, teaching safe warm up/cool downs, teaching in safe and suitable venues and understanding the anatomy and the ability of particular muscle groups and the body in general.
I have had extensive workshop and private tuition experiences from highly regarded professional teachers both in the UK and Egypt. I have been fortunate to have been taught by Nagwa Fouad, Aida Nour, Josephine Wise, Khaled, Kay Taylor, Tracey Gibbs, Sara Farouk, Horatio Cefuentes, Anne Kingston, Randa, Lorna of Cairo and many many more.
My styles include Oriental Egyptian, Khaleegi, Nubian, Sai'idi, Baladi and I regularly perform with props such as Assaya (stick), sword, veil, double veils, Isis wings and occasionally perform Burlesque with large fans.
I have been interviewed on Radio Shropshire, appeared on Turkish television and 'Come Dine With Me' for Channel 4. My portfolio is extensive and I have performed at weddings, parties and corporate functions and regularly continue to do so.
Teaching is a big part of my dancing life and I enjoy passing on knowledge of this beautiful art form to others. I am delighted (and very proud) to say that some of my original students are now excellent teachers in their own right.
I regularly perform both solo and with Al Qadeem Bellydance Company in Shropshire and Hereford and have travelled around the UK to perform. I travel to Cairo at least once a year, not only to see the dancers there but to learn new dancing technique, pick up new fashion ideas and trends and to shop for myself and my students.
So if you've ever wanted to learn how to bellydance, come along to one of my classes and enjoy a 'Wiggle and a Giggle'
